This page demonstrates a graphical browser for MeSH descriptors. The primary goal is to increase understanding of MeSH descriptors so users can build selective PubMed queries. A secondary goal is to help the user build and submit these queries interactively.

Visualization

The following visualization is generated using d3 and the 2014 MeSH descriptors. Empty circles indicate leaf nodes in the MeSH trees. Filled circles indicate internal nodes, which may or may not be expanded. Clicking on an internal node toggles whether that node should be expanded or not and the tree is redrawn immediately.
